Dhamma Cakka, meaning ‘Wheel of Dhamma’,
is located 3.5 km from where the Buddha
gave his first discourse Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta (Turning of the Wheel of
the Dhamma) at
the Deer Park. The exact spot marked by The Dhammeka stupa in the Deer Park,
the Moolgandh
Kuti Vihar with the paintings depicting the Buddha’s life and numerous
monasteries established
by various countries enhance the sacred atmosphere of the region. With its first
course in
September 2004, Dhamma Cakka offers two ten-day courses a month for about 40
students, as
well as two or three Satipatthana courses annually.

Dhamma Suvatthi, meaning 'Welfare of Dhamma' is
situated in the ancient capital city of
Shravasti, the city so often mentioned in the life of the Buddha. The Centre
was established in
June 2003 in the serene surrounding of the historical Jetvan where Lord Buddha
stayed for 25
rainy season retreats. About five hours journey by road from the capital city
of Lucknow,
Dhamma Suvatthi is not however very well connected by rail.
The centre occupies nine acres of land and has
comfortable accommodation for 60
students. The Dhamma hall can seat around 150 students. Segregated dining halls
have a total
capacity of 150. The foundation work of a pagoda for about 64 cells is complete.
Regular 10-day
and Satipatthana courses are regularly beng held, with an average of about 20
courses every year.
