Dhamma Nijjh±na, meaning ‘Meditating on Dhamma ’, is located in idyllic surroundings
of the remote village of Pocharam, which 13 kms away from Nizamabad town on
Nizamabad-Bodhan road. Nizamabad is said to be the first area in the south of India to
have received Dhamma at the time of the Buddha.

Dhamma Nijjh±na held its first 10-day course on Buddha Purnima in May 2003. Present
facilities include a Dhamma Hall for 60 students, a mini Dhamma Hall that can seat 20.
The Centre can house 25 male and 25 female students. Though remote, the Centre is well
constructed with the natural environs in mind.

Courses are held from 1st to the 12th of every month. Every fourth Sunday a one- day
course is held, besides periodic three-day and children’s courses. Dhamma Nijjh±na
supports courses in district jails in Nizamabad by conducting 10-day courses there. Very
shortly, Satipaµµh±na courses will also be conducted regularly.

Another emerging Dhamma Centres in Andhra Pradesh is Dhamma Ramam, meaning ‘to
Dwell in Dhamma’, located on four acres of land in Bhimavaram district. The work for
constructing the Centre has begun by first flattening the land with clay.
A yet to be named Centre is on land recently donated by an old student, on 10 acres in
Aliabad village, adjacent to Kondapur mandal in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh. The
area is considered a historic Buddha-related site.
