Dhamma Rakkhaka, meaning Guardian of Dhamma, is at the Police Training
College in
New Delhi, the capital of India. A ten-day Vipassana course was conducted at
the in March, 1999
in which 1021 Delhi Police personnel participated. A special message from Goenkaji
for the
police personnel was played after mett± bhavan±. It described
the importance of Dhamma in the
security forces citing the example of Emperor Ashoka
At the end of the course, a new Vipassana centre
was inaugurated in the Police Training
College so that the Police Department can continue to gain benefit from the
practice of
Vipassana. Facilities available presently include a Dhamma Hall and residences
for about 40 to 50
meditators.
