Dhamma Sindhu, meaning ‘Ocean of Dhamma’, is one km inland from the Arabian Sea.
Situated near the small village of Bada, 22 km west of the historic port city of Mandvi, Kutch, the
35-acre centre is cooled by sea breezes, about 2000 trees, 400 vines and creepers, 1000 varieties of
flowering plants and shrubs. With a big pond nearby, the centre attracts many birds including
peacocks.

The first Vipassana course in Dhamma Sindhu was held in November 1991. With three
Dhamma halls having a total capacity of 485 students and a Pagoda with 180 cells, Dhamma Sindhu is one of the larger Vipassana centres in India. The Pagoda has a planned capacity for 300meditators.

Facilities include a Dhamma books library and all accommodations having solar-powered
hot water. The total capacity is for 102 males and 78 females, and 58 male and 55 female students
during long courses when single accommodation is allotted to each meditator. The centre is being
continuously developed.
